"Never! Can a mother forget her nursing Child? Can she feel no love for the child she has borne? But even if that were possible, I would not forget you." (Isaiah 49:15)
Do you miss the love of your mother?
A loving mother can never forget her children. A mother's love is unfathomable. A mother, who would even give her own life for her children, can never be replaced or substituted. Nowadays, there are cases deviating from this norm. Scientific developments of Cloning, Genetic engineering, in-vitro fertilization etc., and its wrong propaganda and interpretations have impacted the attitudes of women towards motherhood.
Indian culture puts a mother on the pedestal as that of God. A mother is actually the God that we can see. Anybody acting against a mother is committing an unpardonable crime to humanity.
Everybody had abandoned Christ on the cross, except his mother, Mary. In the Bible, there are innumerable references comparing God to a mother. If anyone despises his/her mother, then God will also despise him/her.
Actually, the home for a child is the mother. Children always long for the love of their mothers. For a child, a mother's frugal food is tastier than a dinner with the king of the country. A mother's love is really special and incomparable.
A child had been picked up from a street and put in an orphanage, but he ran away three times from the Home. He had come back to his poor mother who was then cooking something that she had picked out from the dustbins. When the Sister of the foster home found the child and asked him as to why he ran away from the Home, he said, "But this is my home because this is where my mother is." The food that had been taken from the dustbins was all right because it was his mother who cooked it. The child had his mother and that was all that mattered to him.
In the name of living one's life and seeking enjoyment at the cost of motherhood, is ungodly. Surrogate mothers should be sought only when there is an absolute necessity. All mothers should be respected, honored and loved. We hail the sacrifices and love of all the mothers around the world. Dear mother, where are you?
Jesus, You never forgot your mother even when you were in excruciating pain on the cross. So, let us love our mothers as you did. Jesus, help us love our children just the way your Mother loves You. Bless the barren women so that they can enjoy motherhood. We ask this in the name of Jesus.
Amen.
