“Greet one another with a holy kiss. All the churches of Christ send greetings.” (Romans 16:16)
As you near the end of a long race, your legs
ache, your throats burns, and your whole body cries out for you to stop. This is
the time
you badly needed friends and their support. A smile, a word, a letter, a
telephone, all have it’s own soothing effect. Their encouragement helps you push
through the pain to the finish line. Disciples were dejected, afraid and
helpless after the death of Christ, But the resurrected Jesus encouraged them by
greeting on the way to Galilee. For us nothing to loose but to gain when we
smile to the weary and dejected. The best greeting is a smile that is a special
unique gift of God to human beings. A smiling Christ is waiting for you today.
Accept it. You could see a big change. That you can pass to others.
We saw a board upside down in the class room of our daughter, grade first in her
school, at the time of open day. The board reads “Take time to share a smile”.
She used to give a hug to all her teachers. But some teachers advised her a
smile instead. She used to keep her picture in her computer screen. Then she
changed that picture and put another picture of a family of four, all are
smiling. Million dollar smile. When we open the computer we see first, the
smiling faces of four. That is a refreshing greeting for us. I try this SMILE to
everybody I meet, most of them respond with a SMILE. Those who don’t respond I
take back that gift of smile .
Don’t forget to smile. Smile always. Miles of smile. Smile mile.
Greeting you all with a smile. Nothing to loose but to gain.
Lord, When we tired, you are our strength and
inspiration. Your presence encourage us to climb any mountains of hardship.
Thank you Lord for all your help. All we ask in the name of Jesus.
Amen.
