"Yes. Everything else is worthless when compared with the infinite value of knowing Christ Jesus my Lord." (Philippians 3:8)
Have you anytime felt that your accomplishments
are useless?
All we want is Jesus (God). That is the ultimate goal of humanity, just like the
rivers and streams finally becomes one in the ocean. To do these things may mean
that you must make major changes in your thinking and in your life style.
Whatever you must change or give up, having Jesus and becoming one with him will
be more than worth the sacrifice. Once you know God, then you will be reaching
the stage of no return and will be in eternal bliss. Once enlightened and
connected with Jesus, nothing really changes around you. Nothing changes, the
people are just what they were before; and so are you. You may continue to be
moody or even short-tempered, or wise or foolish. The one difference is that you
see things differently. You are more detached from it all now. You are now in
the kingdom of God. This is the prerogative of children. This kind of absorption
can be seen in little children. They are close to his kingdom.
The story goes that one of the world’s ablest theologians, Thomas Aquinas,
suddenly stopped writing. When his secretary complained about his unfinished
works, Thomas replied, "Brother Reginald, some months ago I experienced some
thing of the Absolute, so all I have ever written of God seems to me now to be
like straw."
"I ask only one thing from God. This is what I want: let me live in the Lord’s
house all my life. Let me see the Lord’s beauty and look with my own eyes at his
temple" (Psalm 27:4). Devotion to God made Joseph the Prime Minister of Egypt,
gave Moses the power to divide the water in the sea into two by his stick, and
lifted St. Paul to the third heaven and into paradise.
Jesus, let us all have the great realization in thy bliss and eternity. Let us forget all our earthly pains and sorrows at your vision. Let us contemplate on you always. Don’t send us away from you or take your holy spirit away from us. Give us back the joy of your salvation. Let those who are in search of you, find you Lord. All we ask in the name of Jesus. Amen.
