"So always be ready, because you don't know the day your lord will come." (Mathew 24:42)
Does the faith in Jesus help you to find reason for living today on earth and
give hope for the future?
Life is not a game to play and push but to love and live in eternity. Each of
our deeds and words are accountable and answerable to God and to people. Our
great hope in Jesus is His return for judgement and the rewards in coherent
with our faithfulness to his word. Hell or heaven is the reality that we are
all going to face. Nobody can dodge the death, judgement, hell, and heaven.
We should not be cheated and caught in the net of Satan through his wrong
propaganda of hopelessness beyond this seen world. Spiritual preparation
can't be bought and borrowed at the last minute. So simply obey Jesus; that is
all we could do for our salvation, hope and eternity. If Jesus came tomorrow
would you be ready?
In San Francisco Bay, USA, an abandoned prison sits on Alcatraz island. Its
prisoners called it 'the rock'. Whitey Thompson was a hardened criminal. He
seemed to have no future. He was sent to 'The Rock.' It was considered to be
hopeless criminals. Ironically, Whitey began to think about his future which led
him to find hope in Jesus. Instead of killing time, he learned new skills,
including painting. He painted beautiful landscapes. Guards, prisoners and
visitors admired his art. He was released directly to the streets. Whitey found
strength in Jesus. Now he can return to Alcatraz as a guest of the National
Park Service, which runs the former prison as a tourist attraction. His eyes
twinkle when tourists ask how he survived. "Here I was on the rock." He says.
"Now I've found the true rock."
The future lies in Jesus. He says, "Listen! I'm coming soon! I will bring my
reward with me, and I will repay each one of you for what you have done."
(Revelation (22:12)
Jesus, let us obey your word with all our hearts, minds and strength. Keep away from the snare of Satan and his evil plans and nets. Give hope for the hopeless who are under the grip of darkness. Brake the shackles of despair and hopelessness. Jesus, come soon. All we ask in the name of Jesus. Amen.
