"In the multitude of my anxieties within me, Your comforts delights my soul." (Psalm 94:19)
Have you lost all hopes?
As long as there is life, there is always hope. Hope is the anchor for the safe
landing of our life journey. Hope for the best always. Hopes should be stretched
beyond this world.
St. Paul says, "And now brothers and sisters, we want to know what will happen
to the believers who have died, so you will not grieve like people who have no
hope." (1 Thessalonians 4:13).
The greatest hope for the believers is the resurrection. God will turn tragedy
to triumph, poverty to riches, pain to glory, and defeat to victory. We should
always be the apostles of hope, not the doomsayers. In the practical realm, we
should be the doers who kindle hope in others through our words, thoughts, and
actions. A conscious, deliberate attempt is needed for sustaining the hopes
already planted by you. We could utilize our wealth of experiences and talents
to always keep our hopes alive.
Gil Troy says about his father’s life-to-death experience in the ventilator, "I
just returned from the strangest, most terrifying planet ever visited. It was a
sterile, and septic version of hell, with smiling nurses and grim doctors doing
the work of superheroes 24/7 under the fluorescent glow of bright lights. The
epidemic cheerfulness masks the patients' and families' miseries, as they
languish at the nightmarish infection. We rejoiced when a nurse taught him to
give one thumps up for "YES" and two fingers for "NO". My mother then asked him
whether he wanted extraordinary measures to help get better. He struggled, then,
characteristically gave an enthusiastic, tough determined, thumps up sign.
Smiling nurses bring cheerfulness and hope in the most grilled situation. Truly
a glorified profession of hope.
Hope for the best always. If there is a will, there is a way to create hope in
any situation. Till the last breath of life, we should not lose hope.
Jesus, let us be the creators of hope. We pray for those who have lost all hopes in their lives to get it back. We pray for the people who are in the forefront of bringing hope and cheerfulness to those who have lost it. All we ask in the name of Jesus.
Amen.
