Trust in God

by Rev. Fr. V.V. Paulose, Toronto, Canada

Today's Bible Verse

“It is better to take refuge in the lord than to trust in people.” (Psalm 118:8)

Discussion

Man always tries to change his attitude and behavior according to the circumstances. And man is mortal. But Jesus is faithful today, yesterday and tomorrow. He is trustworthy. Even if heaven and earth passed away Jesus and his words never will never die. Computer programmers put confidence in the computers. Travelers place confidence in airplanes, cars and buses. Everyday we put confidence in someone or something. We have no second thought to put trust in the vehicles which we travel to reach the destination. We are all travelers destined to live in love here and live in love in eternity. To reach the eternal destination, do you trust God more than any human being? It is futile to trust human beings than God.

There was a blind girl who hated herself just because she was blind. She hated everyone, except her loving boyfriend. He was always there for her. She said that if she could only see the world, she would marry her boyfriend. One day the boyfriend donated his two eyes to her and then she could see everything, including her boyfriend. Her friend asked her, “ now that you can see the world, will you marry me?” The girl was shocked when she saw that her friend is blind too, and refused to marry him. Her boyfriend walked away in tears, and later wrote a letter to her saying, "Just take care of my eyes dear.”

Today, trust in God. He never puts you down. Call his name and cling to him, that's all we need.

Prayer

Jesus, our father, even if a nursing mother forgets her child you never forget us. Give us your spirit to trust in you always. Our sins, fears and sorrows we put on you. Let, Be with us, for our journey today, to the offices, hospitals, churches, schools, colleges, homes and to the final destination. We ask this in the name of Jesus.

Amen.
