"Set you mind on the things above, not on the things that are on earth." (Colossians)
Do you believe that your good thoughts give you a healthy life?
Good thoughts come from above - God. Those who set their priorities in God above
have the abundance of heavenly thoughts. You may have been born with virus prone
thoughts, but you don't have to be forever. Like computer virus, we may have
mental virus like anxiety, bitterness, anger, guilt, shame, greed, and
insecurity. They worm their way in to your system and diminish, even disable,
your mind. These are destructive thought patterns. They will darken our hearts
and destroy all sensitivities to God and human compassion. They will eat all our
energy and time. So it's necessary to cleanse our life so we will have
virus-free thoughts in our life. We should be "transformed by the renewing of
mind." (Romans. 12: 2).
God can change your mind. When Christ dominates your thoughts, he changes you
from one degree of glory to another until you are ready to live with him. Heaven
is the land of sinless minds with virus-free thinking. Absolute trust. No fear
or anger. Life is wonderful, not because the streets are paved with gold, but
because our thoughts are pure.
George was abandoned by father, orphaned by mother, and shuttled by foster
parents. At last, he was homeless. You cannot blame him if he nurtured all bad
bitter thoughts of anger and shame under these circumstances. But a lady had
instilled in him the pure and higher thoughts. A childless washerwoman Mariah
Watkins saw the young boy sleeping in her barn; she took him in and cared,
churched, and helped him to find his way to God. When George left Mariah's home,
among his few possessions was a bible she'd given him. That George - we know him
by the name George Washington Carver - is the father of modern agriculture.
History credits him with more than 300 products extracted from peanuts alone. He
entered his laboratory every morning with the prayer, "Open thou mine eyes, that
I may behold wondrous things out of thy law".
God changes the man by changing his mind. This is pure born-again experience.
Don't open the virus spam, or e-mails with bad earthly thoughts. We should kill
them at their source itself. We should kill the thoughts that sip your vigor and
energy. We should pass only the heavenly thoughts to others. Virus-free thoughts
should be transmitted from the station of God who resides in you.
Jesus, fill our minds with your thoughts. Help
those who are struggling with bad satanic thoughts. Give back the lost energy
and power to those who have wasted their life with worldly minds and but now
have put their trust in you. We ask this in the name of Jesus.
Amen.
