Give thanks in all circumstances, for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus.” - (1 Thessalonians 5:18)
A broken hand reunites a separated couple.
Ebbs and flows of life are in accordance with the master plan of the creator for the good of his creations. No action is accidental. All ultimately lead to fulfill the intention of God’s creation. So we should always be thankful to Jesus for all our circumstances, good or bad. “And we know that all things work together for good.” (Romans 8:28)
For reasons best known to them, Baby and Lea had separated from each other after 44 years of married life. For more than 5 years, Baby was in a retirement home and was done with the initial excitement of the new place and new friends. But Lea was very sad after the separation and kept hoping for a reunion. She had gone to visit her friend in a hospital where she fell down and broke her hand. When she was in the operation theatre, the doctor phoned her husband about the operation. As soon as he heard this, he bundled all his belongings and rushed to the hospital and was by her side till she got well. When she asked about his plan to stay with her or go back to the retirement home, he said, "No darling, I won’t leave you till I die. After a year and a half, he had a massive heart attack and died lying in her once broken hand.
Husbands and wives, you can’t find peace or happiness anywhere else except within you. So don’t think about separation under any circumstances.
Jesus, let us trust in you in all our situations, good or bad. Let us understand that whatever we go through is going to benefit our lives. We pray for the departed soul of Baby and pray for Lea to be strong in her loneliness. All we ask in the name of Jesus. Amen.
