"Search me, O God, and know my heart; test me and know my anxious thoughts. Point out anything in me that offends you, and lead me along the path of everlasting life."
(Psalm 139:23,24)
Is it your daily reflective prayer that is
eternalizing, refocusing, and refixing your life?
Every human beings should get ample times and opportunities to reflect their
life in concurrent with the eternal principles of God for eternal happiness and
bliss. It may be a small or big setback in your life, may be some physical,
mental, spiritual weakness or emptiness in your life or some dead lock in your
pursuit of life or even a calamity in the family. These are all warnings for us
to focus on God and reflect on our lives. If our conscience is clear and our
actions are contributory for the building of God’s kingdom of love, peace and
joy, then confidently we can do wonders in our lives. If God shows us anything
wrong in our daily lives, we can repent and be forgiven, and we can re-fix our
lives.
In 1888, Alfred Nobel, the inventor of "Dynamite" saw his own obituary in a
Norwegian news paper. It was a terrible mistake of a careless reporter confusing
his brother’s death as Alfred Nobel. But this incident changed his life once for
all and the world is benefitted by the founding of the Nobel Prize. The death
Column focused on his creation of the "dynamite" and not his principles and
values of life. That made him to discern his contribution and the destruction of
human life. He decided to change the direction of his life. He began giving his
money away. He made provision in his will for the Nobel Prize, to honour each
year those who make the greatest contributions to humankind. Today he is
remembered not for dynamite, bur for the Nobel Peace prize.
Life is a lesson to learn. Learning it, having it and applying it. "Restore me
the joy of your salvation, and make me willing to obey you" (Psalm 51:12).
Jesus, destroy all the destructive weapons and powers of destructive forces. May those who are in the forefront of making peace be blessed and supported. Let us lead a reflective life. May the freshness of life breeze upon us. Renew all our weak bodies, minds and spirits. All we ask in the name of Jesus. Amen.
