"I know that there is nothing better for men than to be happy and do good while they live." (Ecclesiastes 3:12)
Is it worth to live for others and Christ?
Yes, indeed, it is worth it to live for others and Jesus. Sacrificing anything
for good is always worth rewarding with happiness, unexplainable satisfaction,
and eternal life. St Paul says. "For to me, living means living for Christ, and
dying is even better." (Philippians 1:21) Live for the cause Jesus stands for-
to serve others even at the risk of everything- the death. "And since I, your
Lord and Teacher, have washed your feet, you ought to wash each other’s feet."
(John 13:14) Self centeredness is at the peak now and the joy of life has become
a mirage.
To those who don’t believe in God, life on earth is all there is, and so it is
natural for them to strive for this world’s values: money, popularity, power,
pleasure and prestige. Joy is the by product of giving and sharing the good life
for good of others. Others may not be good and thankful but do not stop the
service. If you stop it then the world will become a hell, starting from our
homes. Millions are still at the services of others that is the reason we are
here with whatever enjoyment that we have. The dead Jesus on Cross is risen to
others only when you are becoming the broken and shared bread to those who are
hungry.
The saintly pope John Paul II writes, "I was ordained a priest at the age of 26.
56 years have passed since then. Looking back, and remembering those years of my
life, I can assure you that it was worth dedicating yourselves to the cause of
Christ, and for love of Him, dedicating yourselves to the service of others. it
is worth giving your lives for the Gospel and for your brothers and sisters!"
"I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith.
Now a crown is being held for me- a crown for right with God." (2 Timothy 4:7,8)
Recklessly live today for others; the reward is at your door steps.
Jesus, let us rededicate our seemingly worthless life for a worthy cause- to do the service for others at thy cause. We pray for those who are at your service here on earth and above. Let those who are discouraged be strengthened by your spirit of encouragement." So let us repeat your words, "So do not fear for, I am with you; don’t be dismayed, for I’m your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand." (Isaiah 41:10) All we ask in the name of Jesus. Amen.
