by Wes Hopper "Thanksgiving Day comes, by statute,
once a year; to the honest person it
comes as frequently as the heart of
gratitude will allow."
Today in the United States we
officially recognize the power of
gratitude with a day of Thanksgiving.
Our Canadian friends did so a month
ago.
Like most holidays, Thanksgiving
has been heavily commercialized,
and serves as the kickoff for the
Christmas shopping season.
All of this makes it easy to forget
what the day is about, especially
for families that are struggling.
So my reminder to all my wonderful
subscribers is - count your blessings!
Take time today to make a gratitude
list. Find the things that you have to
be grateful for.
Do something nice for someone
else. Pay it forward, as the saying
goes.
Give and receive love. Enjoy the
day. Love your family.
All of them.
Think of something that you take
for granted, and be grateful for it.
And then have some fun! As Johnny
Carson once said, "Thanksgiving is
an emotional holiday. People travel
thousands of miles to be with people
they only see once a year. And then
discover once a year is way too often."
I'm grateful that we've got family
coming over that I actually like - a
lot! I hope you do, too.
