St. Matthew AEM
Put on the armour of God, if you are to
resist on the evil day.
(Eph. 6:13)
Now unto him that is able to keep you from falling,
and to present you faultless before the presence
of his glory with exceeding joy.
(Jude 1:24)
Prayer is the expression of a longing to speak to God,
concealed in the depths of the soul.
(Heguman Pishoy Kamel)
The Sun of righteousness will never stop walking with us.
For He will never forsake us. He is not only with us in
the difficult days but in all days till the end of ages.
(Auriginos the Scientist)
Gentleness is a temper that does not change, it is
the same in dealing with insults and respect.
(St. John Climacus)
Blessed is the one who looks at You within himself,
for his heart is enlightened to see the mystic
(John Saba)
It is a great honour for us to be created in the Image
and likeness of God, but it is a greater honour for us
that God takes our image and likeness.
(Philopater)
Christ is the First Born of the dead, for He has participated
with us in all things, except sin, and because He raised His
Body from the dead.
(Cyril the Great)
Let us then serve in Christ's army, following His
blameless commands with all our might.
The great cannot exist without the small, not the
small with out the great, they blend together to
their mutual advantage.
Lord Jesus, help us to be true members of Your
spiritual army, which is Your Mystical Body.
Let us treat everyone we meet as our associates
in Christ and work for our mutual Benefit.
(St. Clement)
The will of God is expressed in the precepts of His Holy Law, and the principles of this law are the principles of heaven. The angels of heaven attain unto no higher knowledge that to know the will of God; and to do His will is the highest service that can engage their powers.
In heaven, service is not rendered in the spirit of legality. In their ministry the angel are not as servants, but as sons. There is perfect unity between them and their creator. The Psalmist tells us: 'I delight to do Thy will, O My God; yea, Thy law is within my heart,' (Psa. 40:6) The petition, 'thy will be done on earth, as it is in Heaven,' is a prayer that the reign of evil on this earth may be ended, and the kingdom of righteousness be established.
If you renounce self, and give yourself to Christ, you are a member of the family of God and everything in the Father's house is for you. If ' ye are Christ's,' 'all things are yours.' 1 Cor. 3:23 & 21.
Like a child you shall receive day by day what is required for the days needs. Every day you are to pray, 'Give us this day our daily bread.' Be not dismayed if you have not sufficient for tomorrow. You have the assurance of His promise, 'So shalt thou dwell in the Lord, and verily thou shalt be fed.'
He fed Elijah by the brook Cherith. He fed the Children of Israel with Manna six days in the week and gave sufficient on the sixth for the seventh as well as the seventh was the Shabot. He took pity on the crowd and fed Five thousand from a few small fish and barley loaves.
When we pray, 'Give us this day our daily bread,' we ask for others as well as for ourselves.
The prayer for daily bread includes not only food to sustain the body, but the spiritual bread which will nourish the soul unto everlasting life.
Christ said: 'I am the Living Bread which came down from heaven; if any man eat of this bread, he shall live forever.' We are to pray day by day that as we read His word, God will send His Spirit to reveal to us the Truth to strengthen our souls for the day's needs.
To Thee be glory and Praise, now and ever, unto Ages of Ages.
AMEN!
